‘More Than One Seat’ exhibition a success for female collaboration

I'm delighted to share my experience from the 'More Than One Seat' exhibition, which took place at the end of May. The professional photographs from the event, captured by the talented Alessandra Merlo, have just been released, and they perfectly encapsulate the vibrant energy and creative spirit that defined the evening.

Hosted at the Stokey Pop Up, the exhibition was a true celebration of female creativity and collaboration. The concept, brought to life by the wildly talented Steph Martin and Abi Everett, aimed to showcase as many up-and-coming female artists as possible. Their vision was to demonstrate that there is room for all of us to succeed and that by supporting one another, we can all rise together. This event beautifully challenged the old narrative of women being pitted against each other, leading us into an exciting new era of mutual support and creative possibilities.

The exhibition itself was a wonderful experience. The artwork on display was nothing short of brilliant, and it was an honor to be part of such an inspiring group of women. I had the pleasure of displaying my piece 'London Calling', which earned me the affectionate nickname 'the pigeon lady' for the evening. I received so many compliments on my work and engaged in numerous fascinating conversations, not just about art, but about our lives and experiences.

What struck me most about 'More Than One Seat' was the incredible sense of community and camaraderie. Meeting so many amazing women and sharing our stories and artistic journeys was incredibly enriching. The exhibition was more than just a showcase of art; it was a testament to the power of collaboration and support among female artists.

I am deeply grateful to have been part of this event and to have met such a brilliant bunch of women. Thank you to Steph Martin and Abi Everett for hosting such a transformative event, and to all the incredible women who participated. Here's to many more celebrations of female creativity and collaboration in the future!
